The practice
Harding Landscapes is a boutique landscape construction studio based in the Northern Rivers, NSW. We build exceptional residential landscapes for clients who understand that the quality of a space is determined by the quality of what holds it together.
Most landscape work is invisible until it fails. The joints that open, the walls that move, the paving that lifts after the first wet season. We exist because Connor Harding was no longer willing to put his name on work built to a lower standard than he knew was possible.
We take on fewer projects than we're asked to. This isn't a policy — it's a consequence of how we work. Every project receives Connor's direct involvement from the first site visit to the final stone. We don't scale by removing the person responsible for the outcome.
Our clients are typically working with an architect, a designer, or both. They've invested seriously in their home and they expect the landscape to be held to the same standard. They don't ask us to hurry. They ask us to be right.

Connor Harding — Founder & Principal
Connor was born and raised in Bangalow and has spent his entire working life in the Northern Rivers. He completed his Certificate III in Landscape Construction and has built his practice over a decade of work on some of the region's most considered private residences.
He founded Harding Landscapes because he saw a consistent gap between what clients were promised and what was delivered — and because he believed the Northern Rivers deserved a landscape construction studio that took the work as seriously as the architecture it sat alongside.
Connor holds full public liability insurance and works exclusively within the Byron Bay and Northern Rivers region. Every project is personally supervised and hands-on — because the standard of the work depends on the person doing it, not just overseeing it. Every build carries his name.
Working with us
We enter early.
The best landscape outcomes happen when the construction studio is involved before the design is finalised — when there's still room to ask questions about levels, drainage, material selection and the relationship between the built and planted landscape. We work closely with architects, interior designers and landscape architects to ensure the landscape is resolved, not retrofitted.
We stay present.
Connor is present on site throughout every build — not periodically, and not at arm's length. He works alongside his team with his hands in the project, because that level of involvement is the only way to guarantee the outcome. Clients find him straightforward to deal with: honest about what's possible, transparent about timelines and costs, and genuinely invested in getting it right. There are no surprises. Just the work, done properly.
We are selective.
We are engaged primarily by referral and introduction. We work on one project at a time at senior level. Our projects range in scale but not in standard. A small courtyard receives the same attention as a large estate. We don't differentiate on size — we differentiate on fit.
